Transform your existing living room with 5 steps
When my client first reached out to me, she told me her living room was recently renovated and she just had a baby. She found her living room plain and her leather sofa was looking sad and lonely against the plain beige walls she did for the entire house. One thing we did which made the biggest difference was painting her wall behind the sofa a darker shade. It immediately added interest and a strong focal point. The colour helped balance the leather sofa and created a lovely contrast against the light cream paint around the house. Tip of the day: being bold in your paint choice in a small space can actually make a space look much bigger and cosier.
Here are the 5 simple steps we did to transform her existing living room:
The wall was given a new coat of paint using a dark grey-blue tone to compliment her leather sofa. By doing so, the tan leather was allowed to shine.
Wall shelves were added to display collection of photos and art she has collected through her travels and included her love for plants.
An area rug was placed to create a focal point and to make the floor area look bigger than it is.
Throw cushions were added in the mix using her existing pieces and to add print and pattern to the space.
A stand lamp was added in the space to create ambience for quiet readings when the baby is asleep
