Top 5 home styling must-haves
My top 5 home styling must-haves are (drum-roll please)…
One of the most common struggle people face in decorating is not knowing what items to get for their homes. In The Styling Guide by PT online course (launching soon), I will share in-depth lessons on the sizes, shapes and styles to look out for in using these key styling must-haves.
1. Trays
I recommend getting at least 3-5 trays of different shapes and sizes for each home. Trays are my all time favourite home decoration. I believe every space should have one tray. Vases, coasters, perfume, candles, flowers, jewellery are just some of the things you can put on a tray to keep things organised and looking good.
2. Books
They make you look intelligent and they add colour and personality to a space. A book collection is always a talking point. I always believe if you must have a book at home, it has to be a gorgeous coffee book. Collect them in all shapes and sizes and the more the merrier.
3. Vases
Get them in all shapes and sizes. Start a mini collection of them in similar colour palette for easy colour pairing. They can be used as sculptures or as a vase to display your fresh or dried flowers.
4. Art
Think out of the box. An art piece can be a sculpture, a painting, a poem your lover gave you or even a set of dinner plates. Filling up a wall with art is similar to painting your home with a new shade of colour.
5. Plants
One of the most cost-effective ways to add colour and warmth to a home. If you have green fingers, get real plants and flowers. They are instant mood boosters. Add water to faux flowers vases to make them look real. Check out the video on the top 3 indoor plants to get for your first home plants collection.
Hope you found these 5 styling must-haves useful and revisit what you have in your home, you might be surprised by what you have collected!
