Little girls bedroom makeover
The brief was to transform this room into a bedroom of sweet dreams and a place to bond for two little sisters.
Previously, the space housed two big wardrobe and a tiny space for the girls to sleep. We did up a new floor plan to retain all their existing furniture and got my client to declutter so we could keep one full height wardrobe and leave the rest of the room empty for more layout flexibility. My client wanted the space to feel lighter and brighter and we got down to picking a soft pastel graphic wallpaper with hints of white to balance the soft pink paint we did for the new room makeover.
After removing the wardrobe, the custom wallpaper is up and it immediately adds texture and pattern to the girls bedroom without it being overly girly. On average a good wallpaper can last at least 3-5 years.
We repositioned the bed to face the window and created a little nook for her to sit by the bed for her bedtime reading. By adding the wallpaper at the entrance of the bedroom, it provided a sneak peek into the girls new bedroom oasis.
At the other corner of the room, we updated the existing ikea dresser with new ribbon door knobs. It is an instant and quick way to update an existing furniture and we added some new art pieces in the room to bounce off all the soft pastels in the room.
Lastly, we created a gallery wall of all the girls favourite toys and books and this serves as a great backdrop for the bedroom . The end result was something my client dreamed of for her two little girls and I heard they sleep soundly and love hanging in their new bedroom.
